In I made the life changing decision to set up my own practice providing independent financial advice and a bespoke, personalised service, to my clients. Living in Duns, and working from my office in Berwick-upon-Tweed, I now provide Independent Financial Advice in Northumberland and the Borders to a growing number of clients. Primarily, I work with people who are 40 and above, typically 20 — 30 years either side of retirement.

We dominated the opening exchanges with Donal Henretty and Chris Anderson coming close. Duns were dangerous at set pieces and we had to clear a Duns effort off the line just before half time to retain the lead. It was a good footballing first half with both teams trying to get the ball down and keep possession.
The club previously competed in the East of Scotland Football League before withdrawing prior to the —17 season. There used to be a team called Duns F. They played in the Scottish Cup proper on 21 occasions, including a match at Parkhead against Celtic.
However, the Dingers had to fight every inch of the way to gain their victory over a Hawick side who played their hearts out. After the Duns keeper had pulled off tremendous saves from Peter Gellaitry and David Battle, the visitors hit back to take the lead. Tweeddale started the better team and were unlucky not to score when Blair Moffat out-jumped the keeper, only to see his header just miss the target.
Infact Eyemouth came out the block the sharper and with exactly 1 minute 53 seconds on the clock scored when their big centre forward Jamie Logan roared into the box down the left shooting high into the net beyond Tansey. That did shock Duns into action and within the next 10 minutes the score was with first the impressive Dez Chisholm shooting low into the net then Jordan Lauder who after receiving an accurate long pass virtually walked the ball into the net. Following a foul outside the box Michael Stewart released a great effort at goal surely stinging the visiting keeper fingers as he pushed the ball wide.
Council Meeting In regard to the exemption of 42 clubs from the qualifying competition, it was mentioned that last year the First and Second Division clubs, with Brechin City and Montrose had been exempted. The absence of Arthurlie and Bathgate meant that two other clubs had to be exempted, and Mr Fleming, the vice president, suggested that the clubs in the First and Second Division as at present constituted, with Nithsdale Wanderers, Beith, Brechin City, and Montrose, be exempted. The Duns Players applied to you for funding last year to finance some sound and lighting equipment and you kindly gave us. We listed a number of items we wanted and agreed we would be contributing some of the money ourselves. We also promised to share this equipment with other local groups. Your grant has enabled us to improve the quality of our own shows.
This is despite a current shortage of referees which saw games called off on numerous occassions last season. Wilma Mosscrop, who was re-elected in her role as match secretary for the League, told the Berwickshire News: "It is one of the League's duties to give youngsters a chance to play football, so despite having problems with referee shortages, we felt it was important to accept these teams. Hopefully we can recruit more referees for next season, including former players who could maybe put something back into the game in the Borders.
